ChessBy Story

My name is Diego Rodriguez , actually living in Canary Islands ( Spain) ,suring the pandemic of 2020, I started playing chess. It was easy to find opponents online, with millions of people connected to chess platforms. However, once the pandemic subsided, I began to struggle with finding players and physical locations to play in person. This challenge inspired me to think about creating Chessby, a digital tool designed to help people build real-world connections through chess, bridging the gap between the online and offline chess communities.

¨Marcel Duchamp reminds us that «All this nonsense, the existence of God, atheism, determinism, liberation, societies, death, etc., are pieces in a chess game called language, and they are only fun if one does not worry about «winning or losing that chess game»». At ChessBy we want to stay away from aggressive, sexist or racist behavior that only worsens sports competition. ¨
